Jane Rosen’s practice focuses on privacy, security, data diligence, and technology-related issues. She counsels emerging and established companies in a wide range of industries, including technology, media, e-commerce and online gaming companies, on data- and technology-related transactions, licensing agreements and other commercial arrangements, as well as privacy and other regulatory compliance. She also provides legal advice regarding the acquisition and use of alternate forms of data and related risk mitigation strategies. She conducts diligence of data vendors and acquisition targets, drafts and negotiates license agreements and other commercial contracts, and assists clients in drafting consumer-facing privacy policies and terms of service. She has significant experience in transactional contexts such as mergers and acquisitions and various commercial, licensing, and services arrangements, and she is a Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP/US and CIPP/E).
Prior to joining ZwillGen, Jane was an associate at Cleary Gottlieb Steen & Hamilton LLP, where she was a member of the Intellectual Property group and the Privacy and Cybersecurity task force. During her more than six years at Cleary, Jane counseled companies in privacy, technology, and intellectual property issues arising in transactional contexts. Her experience included drafting and negotiating the intellectual property, privacy, and cyber-related aspects of complex M&A deals, joint ventures, financings, restructurings, capital markets offerings, and other significant commercial transactions, and negotiating intellectual property, technology, and data licenses.
Jane received a law degree from Yale Law School, a Master of Public Policy from the Harvard Kennedy School, and a B.A. from Duke University, where she graduated summa cum laude. Before attending law school, Jane worked in the media industry, including as CNN’s political editor and senior producer for a prime-time news program.
