Careers

At ZwillGen, we like the work we do and we like each other. We’re looking for people who feel the same way and who will enjoy and contribute to our friendly and lively atmosphere.

ZwillGen Careers

We work collaboratively as a team and everyone pitches in on firm-related tasks, both big and small. We like self-starters who have a good sense of humor and can make (and take) a joke. We also like to keep things casual. At ZwillGen, jeans and a t-shirt is the norm and a suit and tie is likely to turn heads. In addition to our casual dress policy, we also enjoy a well-stocked kitchen, spontaneous happy hours, in-house massages, firm fantasy sports leagues, and other fun events and celebrations.

  • Data Security Attorney

We are seeking an attorney with at least 4 years of data security experience to join our team.

Washington, DC, New York, San Francisco, or Chicago

We are a boutique internet and technology law firm with a wealth of high-tech clients ranging from early-stage start-ups to household names in the tech industry. We are seeking an attorney with at least 4 years of data security experience to join our team.  Multitalented attorneys who can handle that work and also expertly counsel clients in one or more related areas of our practice (e.g., privacy, Internet law, transactions, gaming, marketing, e-commerce, and consumer protection) are also welcome and encouraged to apply.

The position requires a highly motivated, forward-thinking individual with the ability to work collaboratively as part of a team in a fast-paced legal environment. Although we achieve national accolades (e.g., Law360’s recent Practice Groups of the Year for Privacy and Consumer Protection), we’re not BigLaw: we want attorneys who share our creative and efficient team-oriented approach to clients’ needs, and who can serve as a valued strategic counselor — not simply bill hours. In-house experience is valued; part-time schedules may be accommodated for the right candidate; more experienced attorneys are valued and welcome.

The ideal candidate possesses the following:

    • Knowledge of data security laws and industry requirements, such as PCI-DSS
    • Familiarity with other common security frameworks, such as the CIS 20, NIST CSF, and ISO 27001/27002
    • Ability to manage all aspects of incident response
    • Experience drafting and negotiating data security provisions in contracts
    • Experience drafting and vetting information security policies and governance documents
    • Technology fluency as relevant to all of the above

Privacy and general transactional skills are also useful.

This position is available in our D.C., New York City, San Francisco, or Chicago offices. Candidates must be barred in the jurisdiction in which they will work.

Candidates should write and communicate well, be able to think strategically and assess risks, and be comfortable working under tight deadlines that clients sometimes impose.  Candidates should demonstrate the ability to independently manage projects, interact with clients, and work effectively as a team member.

    Bonus Points:

    • Good sense of humor and strong knowledge of pop culture

    Salary & Application:

Salary is commensurate with experience, plus benefits. If you are qualified and interested in this position, please send your resume to recruiting@zwillgen.com
