Lisa Branco is an attorney at ZwillGen PLLC.  Her practice focuses on variety of interrelated legal and technology issues, including data protection, Internet-based services, technology transactions and licensing, and e-discovery and records management.  

Lisa regularly works with clients on a variety of data protection issues, including compliance with statutes governing the collection, storage, use, and disposal of personal information; data security and privacy issues associated with emerging technologies; data security and privacy risk assessments, policies, plans, and procedures; incident response and data breach notification plans; and compliance with the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (“PCI DSS”).  She helps clients investigate and respond to data breaches, including mitigation strategies, notification of consumers, federal and state authorities, payment card associations, acquiring banks,  law enforcement agencies, and media organizations, and post-breach analysis and remediation.

She counsels clients on transactional issues, including drafting, negotiation, and interpretation of agreements regarding data privacy, security, licensing, and transfer; identifying and mitigating privacy compliance issues for planned marketing initiatives; and a variety of Internet-based contracts, including e-commerce, online advertising, and online hosting agreements.

Lisa also has significant expertise in the area of e-discovery and records management.  She helps clients create and implement records management policies and schedules, data store inventories, litigation hold templates, and e-discovery handbooks, and advises clients on records retention issues and records management solutions. 

Before joining ZwillGen PLLC, Lisa was an attorney at Sonnenschein, Nath & Rosenthal.  Prior to her legal career, Lisa was an information security consultant at Booz Allen Hamilton. In her consulting practice, she drafted agency and system-level information security policies, performed risk assessments and security audits in both classified and unclassified environments, and created and implemented disaster recovery and incident response plans for numerous government clients.

Lisa is a Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) and a Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP).
