WASHINGTON, D.C., MARCH 26, 2012 –ZwillGen PLLC, a Washington, D.C.‐based law firm focused on cutting‐edge Internet issues, is pleased to announce that Ken Dreifach has joined the firm and will be opening the firm’s New York Office.  Dreifach is a former prominent Internet regulator and currently General Counsel and Chief Privacy Officer of Bay Area data company Rapleaf.  He is well‐known throughout the online industry for his expertise in Internet and data law and regulation.

Dreifach will continue to act as outside General Counsel to Rapleaf, in addition to providing privacy and regulatory counseling to ZwillGen clients.  He has broad experience in ZwillGen’s areas of expertise, having also served as Chief of the New York Attorney General’s Internet Bureau for six years, and as Deputy General Counsel for Linden Lab, creators of the Second Life virtual gaming platform. Dreifach and ZwillGen co‐founder Marc Zwillinger previously worked together as partners at Sonnenschein Nath & Rosenthal, in its former Information Security and Internet Enforcement Group.

Zwillinger said he welcomes the opportunity to work with Ken again, “Ken’s in‐house experience at Rapleaf and Second Life give him unique insights and expertise in online marketing, gaming, and privacy that will be incredibly relevant and valuable to our clients. This, along with his experience as a prominent Internet regulator and a law firm partner, provides the kind of well rounded experience that allows an attorney to see complex issues from all angles. He’s a tremendous addition to our team and we look forward to offering more support to our existing, and new, New York clients.”

Dreifach’s practice will focus on all aspects of data privacy, online marketing, online gaming and gambling, but will cover all subject areas of ZwillGen’s practice. As an experienced regulator in these areas, he will be an asset to clients subject to regulatory investigations or enforcement matters. He is also a seasoned litigator. Dreifach notes that, “Given ZwillGen’s work on cutting edge legal issues and its deep client list representing leaders in technology, online services, and many other industries, I am very excited to resume private practice, continue growing ZwillGen’s practice, and continue developing the New York presence.”

When ZwillGen was founded as Zwillinger Genetski LLP in March 2010, it had four lawyers in Washington, D.C. The firm now has nine lawyers in three cities and is continuing to recruit talented lawyers to join its ranks.
